Sometimes wishing for one thing and getting another proves to be just right, even when it comes to pets. Not sure? Read the book and see for yourself.

This book was quite predictable. A little more "surprise" would have made this book far more interesting. Overall though it was ok.

In the book

This was a story about a little boy that wanted a dog but lived in an apartment where he could'nt have one. His mom came home from work one day with a guinea pig but the little boy wasn't to sure if he liked it or not. After spending time with the guinea pig and teaching it tricks like a dog, he thought it was the best pet ever.

Rufus (aka Roof) desperately wants a dog. But his dad does not. So Rufus's mom being thoughtful buys him a guinea pig. Rufus however is not impressed at first, wanting to return it and buy a dog. However after many days bonding with the guinea pig, he notices the pig also acts just like a dog. Therefore Rufus rethinks about returning him. Now together they are friends and enjoy each other's company.
