America has fallen. A vampiric scourge sweeps the nation, turning brother on brother and parent on child as the blood-hungry beasts take deeper and deeper hold upon the land. It's hard for the survivors to know whether to be more afraid of the creatures themselves or the violent religious groups that have sprung up in response, but there is clearly only one choice: fight or die.

Not bad. Considering it's of the post apocolyptic vampire zombie genre , this film shows a lot of restraint throughout the drippingly gory and violent content. The effects are refreshingly low tech and the characters you get to know somewhat more of that in your typical modern horror movie. I was surprised.

Stake Land is not a typical vampire movie. It is more of an end of the world type saga with vampires and religious fanatics as the bad guys. The vampires in this movie look and act like zombies. Story wise a man and a teenage boy set off on a journey to find the promised land of New Haven. There one is supposedly safe from vampires although civilization as we know it no longer exists. Along the way the two vampire killers befriend a woman and a young pregnant girl. Unfortunately the world has been turned into survival of the fittest mode with bleak prospects for humanity.

Suprisingly a very good movie. a world were life is a toughlesson in survival and not just from the vamps but religous factions that could be worse than the brainless monsters. Its also about the connections they make along the way to the unknown. There were some touching scenes and within the first 2 mins of the movie your sucked in.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. “Not too bad---good performance”. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

Entertaining post apocalyptic vampire movie. Not great in any way, but better than most straight to dvd sci-fi/horror movies. Minor deviation from your basic "infected" apocalypse flick due to the militia/extremist humans that pose a threat to the characters as well as the "monsters". Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

The vampires are more like zombies. Religious fanatics use violence, including “biological warfare” to maintain power. Overall, “Stake Land” is just an average horror flick.

Pretty decent. It was nice to see vampires portrayed in a little different light; kind of like a zombie infestation. Overall, pretty entertaining for a movie that received very limited release.

This genre-bending thriller combines vampires, religious fanatics and post-apocalyptic horrors with a coming-of-age tale that finds drifter Mister (Nick Damici) training young Martin (Connor Paolo) to survive the nightmare that has become America as they journey to New Eden. While they combat the mutated bloodsuckers and vicious humans seeking to rule the land, Mister and Martin rescue other wanderers and become a tightly knit family of warriors.
