Add a CommentThe story itself was great! I loved Kate's struggle with leaving the CIA and becoming a housewife only to find out her old life has followed her. It kept my interest all the way through. It was a little confusing the the storyline keeps switching between different times and parts of story. I was able to get used to the shifts, but sometimes they were a little abrupt.
This book was a disappointment. I like espionage but this one doesn/t quite make it. The text was somewhat choppy and the going back & forth in time was confusing and distracting. The suspense built up in the middle and that was the best read although towards the end it became contrite with a "yeah right" conclusion. Too bad because the story and locale were interesting but the story needed tightening.
What tripe. Unbelievable characters, the writer constantly & confusingly jumping about in time & place. everyone smugly amoral. Yech.
I absolutely loved the pace and tone of the book. Great thriller in international environments. A great read! I cant wait to read more from Chris Pavone one day!
Great summer read, especially if you like international settings and mysteries....
I read this book in one sitting. It's about a woman who is tired of her life and has the ability to reinvent herself when her husband is offered a job in Europe. If you enjoy mysteries where nobody appears to be who they say they are, you will like this book. It jumps around in time and that works as a literary technique for this book.
This is a terrific spy novels with lots of twists. I don't read many of this genre but this was definitely worth reading and I look forward to more from this author.
Great spy thriller set in Luxembourg with realistic characters! Somewhat reminded me of TV show "Alias" Riveting read!
Not your run-of-the-mill espionage novel. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing right up 'til the end.
Terrific summer read. Told in interlocking sections that cover one day in the present and a period of months two years earlier. It's great to figure out how the two fit together. Interesting plotting--good twists and turns.
