Add a CommentThis teen novel is the first in a trilogy. It features Grace, a teenage girl who is obsessed with a wolf, a wolf she remembers from an incident in her childhood. The wolf is Sam, a young man who was bitten by wolves when he was only eight, and since then has changed into a wolf whenever the cold weather sets in, changing back into a human for the summer months. He, too, is obsessed, obsessed with Grace. Of course that is the core of this paranormal romance, but there are other stories too. There is Olivia, one of Grace's best friend, an avid photographer, also fascinated by the wolves. There is Jack, an angry young man, whose behaviour takes him into danger and desperation. There is Isabel, Jack's sister, who wants to save her brother, but doesn't really like him. And there is the rest of Jack's pack, a mixed group with different pasts, who each have differently reactions to the situation their nature has put them in. Some good storylines, and many of the characters have interesting complexities. A nice addition to this genre.
I really loved this book! I really recommend it! But at the beginning was a little slow otherwise awesome!
Maggie Steifvater's prose feels like poetry. It's so rich and real. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, though I had to take breaks to absorb the language a lot of the time! Highly recommend for people looking for a good rainy day book. (:

Achingly beautiful. It's kind of hard to get into at first, but you can't stop reading once you've hit the first 100 pages...
Highly recommend if you are feeling like romance of the supernatural kind. Not cheesy, just right.

A good book that is well written and feels as if you should be drinking a hot cocoa while watching snow fall. Wonderfully written with characters fully developed and lovable.
Meet Grace who lives in Mercy Falls, MN. She has a history with wolves and has obsessed over them as she has grown up due to her history. Now, events in town are changing things and she sees who/what the wolves really are. Follow Grace and Sam in their adventure together trying to figure life, love and their future together (or not)?
A perfect book to snuggle up with under a warm blanket while it snows outside. Such a cute book and plot
