Add a CommentI loved this book! At first it really bothered me and i almost quit reading it a few times because it was going at such a slow pace. The whole beginning to me felt like she kept going on and on about her love for her best friend and i got real bored, but trust me if you keep going the book is definately worth it in the end !! :) im now wating to get the second book :) yay!
A junior in high school is experiencing love (with her childhood best friend) and a psychic connection with murder victims (and dead animals). It was an okay read, an easy read. It seems as though one of the aspects of the plot (romance/psychic) was an afterthought. Not my favorite book by Kimberly Derting.
It took too long for the plot to begin. Seems like the first half of the book was solely about her attraction to her best friend, Jay. But if you hang on, it takes off and becomes quite a good read. And if you enjoy stories of teenage love, ahh, all the better. I
I was so disappointed with this book, I had really high hopes for it too. I had to just stop reading after the first couple of chapters because all she does is complain about how she has feelings for her best friend and it gets really annoying fast.
“The Echoes,” as Violet calls them, are part of her secret and morbid ability to sense the bodies of murder victims—and their killers. As she struggles to understand the odd ability that has been with her since birth, she is confronted with another albeit more common teenage issue, a budding attraction to her childhood best friend, Jay. When a serial killer invades her town and begins abducting and killing local girls, Violet realizes that her secret ability could save lives and begins a dangerous quest to find the killer. As a suspense novel, The Body Finder delivers. Its premise is believable and intriguing in the context of the story, the pace is fast, and the twists and turns of the plot keep the reader in suspense. The main fault of the book is in Violet’s romance with Jay. The premise of the romance, from best friend to boyfriend, seems a great love story for the audience but the author spends far too much time on this aspect of the story. The effect is that the book is choppy, fast and suspenseful in parts involving murder, slow, often painfully so, in parts involving the romance. While there are likely many readers who will love the romance angle of this story (Twilight lovers, I am looking at you), plenty more will be turned off by its heavy-handedness. Ages 13+
I absoloutley loved this book!! i ACTUALLY couldn't put this book down. i just kept on reading haha :)
i loved this book!!! It kept my attention. Couldn't put it down.
For all you romance lovers, this one is for you. There is lots of mushy love scenes and feelings. Also quite a predictable plot but somehow I found this book intriguing and wonderful. I really like Derting's writing and I found this a very satisfying read.
