This mystery novel was very strange, but at the same time, very compelling. I couldn't put it down. I liked the style of writing, the characterizations and the knock-out climax at the end.

I'd give this a 3 out of 5. It has an interesting writing style, but I never felt any empathy towards any of the characters, even the protagonist; mousy and unassuming Em. Although the ending was clever, I did sense who the guilty party…
