This book was just not very interesting to me, and I could not get into the storyline/characters. It was not a bad book, but I felt the writing wasn't that great and the characters were quite boring. I also didn't like the switching viewpoints (that's always confusing in my opinion) and I felt like they both could have had a lot more spunk to them.

A great quick read, dealing with coming to age events yet spinning it in the direction of time travel. Unlike many other time travel stories, it leans more towards the romantic side with the main character, Amy and a mysterious boy, Henry. However, I found the ending a bit too predictable. Nonetheless, it is a wonderful book.

This is The Time Traveler's Wife for teens. Amy moves in with her great aunt Mae up in Skagit county after breaking up with her abusive boyfriend. She quickly discovers a mysterious fog that hides a clearing and, Henry, a boy living in 1944 with his mother and grandfather. Henry and Amy grow close quite fast, although he's a perfect young gentleman, and just the kind of boy she needs; meanwhile, back in the 21st century, she is dealing with a new school and new people - at least one of whom is obviously interested in her. As her romance with Henry grows, she learns the real reason why there is a "pocket of time" in the past.

I like time travel stories immensely - something about the fatalistic aspect of the story - while this one was a little predictable, I did enjoy the growing romance and the development of several of the characters. The setting of the clearing and the 1944 farmstead was nice too.

A very touching novel with a good twist. It's great to read a book about a modern day girl who falls in love with a boy from the past. The ending was really amazing but not the way I would expect it.

I thought this was an interesting premise. It's sorta've a time travel novel, but it's got more of a romantic premise than a science fiction or supernatual premise. A teenage girl moves in with her Aunt to escape her abusive boyfriend. She crosses the clearing near her house to find a boy trapped with his family in 1944, trying to avoid an inevitable tragedy. This novel is bittersweet; the protagonist must take an emotional journey to find inner strength and esteem, while her love must accept the tragedies in his life, and perhaps even sacrifice his dreams to save his family. An enjoyable read, though the dialogue and writing style felt stiff and forced at time.
