Batman: under the cowl is an amazing book for any batman lover to read. Under the Cowl contains various batman stories, the oldest being from Detective Comics #665 in August 1993, to the newest from Batman #666 in 2007. Multiple artists, writers and publishers worked hard to make these comics, and now you can get a taste of them in one convenient place. Who is batman? Batman is a man who, without any sort of superpowers, protects his city. When Gotham City needs a hero, batman is always there to protect those who need protection. Why Gotham? Villains seem to flock to the city for one scheme or another. Even just in this short graphic novel, villains like Bane, Croc, and sometimes batman himself threaten Gotham. But it isn't JUST batman saving the day! You can't forget Robin and the Gotham city police who help batman keep the streets clean. This book is a sort of time line, showing us some of the many evolutions of Batman. Jean Paul Valley, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne and Terry McGinnis are all characters within this novel whom take the role of batman. It's interesting to see the different artwork, as you can almost see it evolve as the comics get more and more recent. From the colourful comics of 1993, to the dark gritty look of Batman comics in 2007. The stories in this book range in plot. In one, for example, Batman is struck with amnesia after falling from a building. How did he get there and why can't he remember? You'll have to read the book to find out.
