The Magnolia League by Katie Crouch is a great book. The book is about sixteen year old Alexandria ‘Alex’ Lee. The only family Alex has ever known is her mother; her father left before she was born, and her mother and grandmother have a bad relationship. Alex’s mother never had a lot of money so they were constantly moving from place to place; the only place they ever stayed in was a communal farm. When Alex’s mother tragically dies in a car accident Alex feels lost with no family. Alex’s wealthy grandmother whom she has never met forces Alex to go live with her in Savannah Georgia. When Alex moves in with her grandma she finds out that she is the heir to the Magnolia League, a long standing debutante society in Savannah. Alex does not think she is debutante material, she has dreadlocked hair, a lack of style, and what she likes to call is prolonged baby fat, not to mention that she is the clumsiest person she knows. Alex’s grandmother though, has high hopes for Alex so she assigns Madison and Hayes, two young debutantes, to give Alex a complete makeover. When Alex starts to question the past of the Magnolia League she uncovers deep dark secrets that make her realize why her mother left and that paranormal trouble is brewing in Savannah. I really enjoyed this novel, the only problem I found was that the chapters would randomly switch perspective and it would get confusing because it would take a while to figure out what was happening.

it was an intresting book.. but didn't have a good ending, like for a series it would leave you hanging but like for this you could go on without a second book.... not the best book ever but intresting

It was slow at first but very humorous. It started picking up by the 4 or 5th chapter and that's when it truly began

okay book, I think the main character made some pretty dumb choices. The book didn't really follow a path of choices that I think anyone would have made. Not sure if I will read the sequel
