This book explores the story of two young women who found themselves forever captured within a single moment of the Civil Rights era, a moment that would shape them for years to come. It follows the ups and downs of their lives--Elizabeth, more fragile than is apparent at first, carried the weight of the trauma she faced for many years, often finding herself paralyzed by it. Hazel tried time and again to show her apologies were about more than having her name in the spotlight. They even managed to find connection and friendship for awhile. Recommended for readers of historical non-fiction, especially those who prefer a more personal look at historic events.
