This is a book my teen chose for us to read for our book club. It is the story of what was done to native children in Alaska. They were taken from their families to give them an education and told their native Language was not allowed to be spoken .

A sobering and inspiring read about the dire conditions prevalent in Roman Catholic boarding schools in Alaska in the 1960's. Based on fact, it is a story about survival and the connections these children from mixed racial backgrounds made which lasted throughout their lives.
