Love the timeline at the beginning of the book. A lot of great information. I already knew everything but the events before and after episodes I and VI.

In the gazillion of books on the Star Wars phenomenon, this one is a bit different, as it tries to cover the whole Shebangthingy from all angles: Movies, Cartoons, Novels, videogames, Merchandising, production, fan conventions, concepts and general story line, characters development, etc.

There has been a lot of material published on Star Wars, and the only other series to have generated so much derivative literature, I think, is Star Trek. What makes this book stand out is that it's a fine synthesis on the whole phenomenon, both on and off screen.
