From Library Staff

This is one of the best books I've read this year. I love it. Anne Enright is profound and sarcastic at the same time. Her prose are beautiful, and her sentiments made me either laugh or cry. Everything about this book helped me find myself in motherhood more.

I loved this wry, yet emotional, take on motherhood. A nice short read to fit in during those baby naps!

The brilliant Anne Enright doesn't disappoint in this parenting memoir.

I really enjoyed this - such a lot of great musings on motherhood. Warning: if you are at all sensitive about bad things happening to sentient beings (in this case, babies), do NOT read the short segment, late in the book, entitled "The Killing Cup". It's all about bad stuff that can happen, or has happened, to babies/children, and frankly, I wish I had known to avoid it. Otherwise, a great read!
