incredible what Olmstead was able to accomplish given personality conflicts and ill health. a major contributor to the beauty of many US urban landscapes. I was hoping for a fuller account of his work on the 1983 Chicago World's Fair, as described in Erik Larson's The Devil in the White City, which gave Chicago the best lakefront park system in the Great Lakes.
