Crossovers are the stuff of story. Maid Marion is not native to the Robin hood story, but immigrated there. The flood narrative of Noah is borrowed from the Epic of Gilgamesh. Hanumann escaped the Hindu stories and become the Monkey King in Journey to the West.

Crossovers are old old old hat, and very popular. In the modern era, few media does the crossover as well as the comic book. And this book is a very good example of how to do a crossover well. The writers assume that readers know the characters- crossovers are written for established fans and not for new audiences after all. Bendis performs at his best, doing realistic and yet Whedon-esque dialogue that is funny, and witty and yet moves the plot. Sara Pichelli does beautiful artwork that rarely left me lost. Her only weakness is a fondness for multi-panel full page spreads that are not clearly obvious as spreads until the reader realizes that the dialogue is out of order.

This is not a deep read. Although I suspect this was foreshadowing on Marvel's part leading up to their merging of the Ultimate and regular continuity universes. But it was a blast, beautiful and heart-warming and cool. What else do you want, except a little more?

The Peter Parker from the "regular" Marvel universe gets shoved into the Ultimate universe and meets Miles Morales. Felt like a torch-passing/official endorsement for the younger web-slinger. An enjoyable excursion.

Great art, good story. I think the comments that follow mine sum this edition up pretty well.

While I'm still not sure how Mysterio is alive again (he kind of killed himself...), it's a fun story!

This crossover between the regular Marvel Universe's Peter Parker and the Ultimate Universe's Miles Morales isn't exactly what I expected. It was a little more emotional than I thought it was going to be at times. This is book is a must read for any Spider-Man fan. Even if you are still not on board with the course of the Ultimate Spider-Man books, you will still really enjoy Spider-Men.
