I admit that I am a great fan of Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast. It goes without saying that these books are best enjoyed as audiobooks due to the great voice of Rene Auberjonois. So as I started listening I became concerned that this might be the last book appearance of agent Pendergast. Further into the book I started thinking that it might be for the best. The plot did not seem to usual the standard. The language, too, and some of the dialogue seemed less refined than usual and I must say I found this to be my greatest disappointment. Nonetheless, I persevered and then as the book was reaching the end I found myself laughing as I visualized the action. I concluded that this was probably what the authors intended, since, as usual, they left the door open for the further adventures of Pendergast and friends. I sincerely hope so.
