This is a great story about grief and acceptance told from a teen's point of view

I can't even image how difficult it would be to be in Pearl's shoes. You'er the step daughter to your mom's husband. Your mom then dies, giving birth to your step-dad's daughter, your half sister. What a horrible place to find yourself.... having to love the new sibling, who's birth killed your mom. I'm not sure I would have handled being around the baby either at that age. Most kids are not that giving or caring. teens can be pretty self-absorbed, like Pearl at 15.
Good story though, interesting read.

this book was pretty good , however I found Perl to be quite annoying and rude. Yes i understand she was sad and grieving but at times she was hard to sympathize with. I wish the mothers ghost had been in the book a bit more
