Pure fun and action. There are a couple of moments I wince at, but overall it doesn't take itself too seriously. Plus they save the galaxy by holding hands. How can you be mad at that?

I don't usually like SciFi/action movies, but this one has an excellent soundtrack and goofiness galore. Plus, who doesn't love Chris Pratt!

The soundtrack is pretty much the best mixtape of the late 70s. The plot is rather predictable.

This movie was just okay. I really don't understand the hype. You're really not seeing anything new here for one, and the story is really really really boring a lot of the time. The soundtrack was fun. If I have any hope for the guardians it's that they become more interesting as they get connected into the marvel universe more. I'm willing to watch the sequel but I don't have high hopes.

If you want a film that is exciting and fun at the same time, get Guardians of the Galaxy.

I have to admit, I was most impressed (also) by the movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy" - while incredibly waky and base in humor, thought maybe we had stumbled into an 12year old's comic (yeah, I know, hush, wait... ), it was ALSO metaphorically rich - and we're actually talking "cosmic humor" here. Groot, for one, is portrayed as, or more accurately, referenced as, quite the mindless idiot with a 1yr old infant's "me-me-me" focus ("'I am Groot' is all he says," his sidekick apologizes). Then Groot somehow seems to stumble into actually solving some of the problems encountered by the band of misfit heros that Groot plays an increasingly expanding role in (so to speak [hint, hint]).. but as so much of the picture is all about -- ILLUSION -- this tree, turns out to be, hmmmm, should I give it away? Really? Well, what is the mystical relevance of a tree? uhmmmm, And what function might that role fulfill? And then there's the "baby Groot" who I will rename as Groot Reborn. Now, if you haven't seen it, and if you like metaphysical humor... Oh, and if you want to sell something, do you not go where it ain't, and then speak the language (but am getting ahead of things here)...

I don't usually care for super hero type movies. But thoroughly enjoyed this one. I appreciated the humour and the dialogue. Looking forward to actually going to the cinema to see #2. I have developed a fondness for Groot. Can't wait to see him as Baby Groot.

This is a 2014 American superhero SF violence-and-action drama directed by James Gunn, based on the Marvel 2008 Comics of the same name.
The story starts in 1988, then jumps to 26years later to 2014.
Peter Quill forms an uneasy alliance with a group of extraterrestrial misfits who are fleeing after stealing a powerful artifact.
Since I'm not much of SF fan, the world in the film seems to me a good-for-nothing nonsensical globe.
Visual effects are good, but there appears to be a script deficiency.
I can hardly enjoy this violence-and-action drama.

Peter Quill saves the galaxy from dangers with a team of outcasts. It's my favorite because it shows how important one person can be. - Emerson - Teen Volunteer

Well, on my planet, there's a legend about people like you. It's called Footloose.
