Breena was suppose to marry Viking Carrick to save her people, instead his father invaded, killing many of her people and taking the women back as slaves. There is raping involved in this story for those who are sensitive to such story elements. Garrick wasn't involved in the raid but his mistrust of women fouls his relationship with Breena. Breena raised as a boy is feisty and independent, not taking the yoke of slavery well.

I hated this book! How Lindsey can romanticize rape is beyond belief. Just the horror of the number of women abducted, raped and enslaved is disgusting. I finished the book hoping to see Lady Breena's get her revenge, but it failed miserably.
