Lucifer is a fictional story loosely based on the comic book character of the same name. The show stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar and it is about a fallen angel who is unhappy with his life in hell, so he takes a holiday in Los Angeles where he runs a nightclub called Lux, and indulges in his most deepest desires. When Lucifer’s friend is murdered, he joins forces with LAPD Detective Chloe Decker in order to bring the victim’s murder to justice. When he begins to feel compassion for a human being, it concerns him terribly. Lucifer possesses a charm to get what he desires, and to get people to confess their deepest and darkest desires, but his ability fails to work on Chloe (Lauren German), as she fails to fall victim to his devilish charms. I love the show because they somehow managed to mix humour and the supernatural together. Lucifer seems to be an extremely honest character who investigates crimes and punishes the criminals. While some religious people may get offended by the content. There are some scary scenes and mature themes. The show depicts alcohol, swearing, violence, sex, and drugs. It is inappropriate for some tweens and younger teens. But I love the way Lucifer sings in some episodes. 3.5/5 Stars. @janmarrow1225 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review

It has very little to do with the Vertigo version other than the back story. For that I hate it. And for that I love it. The show is hilarious. For Lucifer to find humanity, the idea is so ridiculous, but it is also ridiculous funny. Mazikeen and Dan should have more screen time.

A witty gem of a show that seems destined to become a cult classic, now that it's been cancelled. Even if you've never read the graphic novel series the show is loosely based on, it's hard not to enjoy this show. The main character and the recurring cast have a great deal of wit and likeability, even though the show is more detective procedural than dark comedy. It's too bad the show was ended when it was. This show would have lasted for 10 seasons had it been released just a decade earlier. As it is, in the age of cord cutting, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon (and maybe HBO go), even the best of modern scripted network television shows will face an uphill battle keeping viewers.

Please let there be another season or 2 or 3 of this witty and wonderful show! It's worth it just for the relationship between Lucifer and his therapist..... but hang on for the good writing, and good acting from all the characters...great fun! Oh dear, why do I always fall for the Bad Boys.....

A for unique concept; B for execution. Anytime your top 5 characters are the devil, an angel, a demon, a police detective, and a psychiatrist, you're in for something offbeat, and in Lucifer's case it works. Tom Ellis is witty and given a pretty good script, but we don't exactly know the rules of this devil on Earth, and his brother, the angel (D.B. Woodside) who's tasked with getting him back to Hell is pretty clueless too. Perhaps the most interesting development is his relationship with detective Lauren German (formerly of Chicago Fire), but now I'm revealing a bit too much. Hope there's a season two!
