"Now I just have to figure out how to get marsh water out of my lady parts.", page 11.

That almost sounds like it could be funny, but it seems to ignore the way a woman's 'lady parts' actually work. 'Lady parts' aren't in any way shaped like a cup, and aren't made up of sponge-like material, there's no need for a woman to make an effort to get fluid out of there, gravity does it for us. It's not like we need to turn a tap to release any build up of fluid, if we did a certain time of the month could be made much more convenient. In fact gravity's effects are why women who are attempting to get pregnant are told to stay lying for down for 15 minutes after having sex so that the semen doesn't drain out too quickly before the sperm has the chance to fertilise the egg.

I felt like Carlson rushed this book, like she had a looming deadline and didn't have the time to give this the attention it deserved. Pure Blooded is the shortest book of the series so far, by 25 pages or more and the 'climax' of the book was, strangely, in the middle of the book. The book ended on a bit of a cliff hanger, so it's obvious there's going to be another book, but I don't feel any desperate desire to get my hands on the next book right now. The cliff hanger just didn't have any tension attached to it. I look forward to reading the continuing story, but I'm not going to be tearing my hair out waiting for it (which is good, the next book doesn't even have a placeholder marking its spot, so I imagine it'll be a while before it's published).
