In the spirit of Barbarians at the Gate and Liar's Poker comes The Sellout, the definitive book on the recent collapse of Wall Street, one of the most dramatic and anxiety-ridden era in national socioeconomic history. In this powerful business narrative, Charles Gasparino, the author of Blood on the Floor and King of the Club, captures how avarice, arrogance, and sheer stupidity eroded Wall Street's dominance, made many of our country's most fabled financial institutions vulnerable to significant new foreign control, and profoundly weakened the financial security of millions of poor and middle-class American families.

The whole book is incredible. The author did an excellent job of researching and reporting on the events what happened for the past 40 years. Anybody who wants to understand the financial history of major events should pick this book and read it. It opened my eyes on the behind truth of the events. It should be introduced in colleges and studied as the major financial subject.

For anyone who wishes to understand what happened in 2008 and more importantly, how it happened, this book is a fantastic source. Gasparino boils down pretty complex techniques to explain them in a way that anyone can understand. This serves as a highly detailed history of the rise of greed and the fall of regulation and morality on Wall Street. Highly recommended reading.

Comprehensive account of the back room machinations that ended with the financial collapse of 2008.
Fascinating character studies of obsessive-compulsives who are consumed by desires for more money and power with no thought of the consequences.

great read, scary how bad the 2008/09 credit crash was (is), all about greed and lack of regulatory oversight, some fundamental problems with the US financial system yet to be addressed
