Kincaid and James follow the evidence of a murder through a series of cover-ups, lies, family secrets of the past and the connection with the drowning of Julia's brother 20 years before. A good but not a great read. Upon reflection the discovery of the murderer does fit. But how the relationship between Kincaid and James ends is rather odd and I assume will be resolved in the next novel.

More of a cozy than a thriller. Think Agathe Christie not Lee Child. Lots of interviewing, again and again as the evidence begins to accumulate, then shimmer, and finally illuminate. The writing is very good, but I prefer at least a little more spice in my meal.
