I was surprised by the quality of this story, expecting something rather stuffy. Perhaps I was initially misled by the absence of any commentaries on this OPL site. I loved the setting, Germany immediately after WWII. Sleuths from America, Britain, and Russia all seek a Jewish assassin who has been murdering former Nazi's in hiding. Each group has different motives for their search. The Dwarf who is intelligent, charming, and deadly is a key member in one group (going against most readers' stereotypes). All three groups are at odds with each other as they try to track down the assassin. They begin to interconnect in a dangerous manner until they are forced to confront each other at the conclusion. An excellent spy with spice story with an intriguing post WWII portrayal of Germany.
