Shelby Lynne has one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard and this is my favorite of her albums. It's a combination of blues, rock, and country that just speaks to me. Someone described her to me as a grittier, more twangy and bluesy Cheryl Crow. "Life is bad" is the perfect cathartic anthem for singing along with on a bad day. Then there's such sweetness in "Gotta get back" and "Where I'm from." "I thought it would be easier" is one of those songs that has seeped into my bones and that I can't resist moving to. This is an album I come back to again and again.
