Long live the Congo! Long live Africa!
The last known words written by Patrice Lumumba before his death [the ending lines of a letter to his wife], murdered by Mobutu's thugs, under the influence of Belgian [along with American] government persuasion. The one exception I take with the author is blaming some of the culpability on President Kennedy, who took office on 20 January 1961, while President Lumumba was murdered on 17 January 1961 - - more revisionistic misinformation which the author fell for.
A powerful book, though, and illustrative of the meglomaniacal types who run the world! [One of the few books you will ever heard mention of Mozes Maschkivitzan, a CIA contract killer - - and hired out to others, no doubt - - more than likely the role model for Keyser Soze - - probably the only existing photo of him is the tramp with the turned up collar in the photos of the three so-called tramps at Dealey Plaza on the day of the assassination of President Kennedy {the other one, the tall blond, was Lazlo the Hungarian, while the shorter and fatter one was in actuality a hobo}.]
By studying the JFK assassination over the years, I chanced to learn much about the Lumumba murder because of the Maschkivitzan connection between the two [he was one of the shooters of President Kennedy on 11/22/63 as well] - - originally Allen Dulles {who had been given the go-ahead by Eisenhower} had ordered CIA man, Justin O'Donnell to assassinate President Lumumba, but O'Donnell refused, being against the notion of assassination and also thinking highly of Lumumba - - next Dulles sent Sidney Gottlieb, chief poisoner at the Agency to Africa to deliver poisonous tools to the CIA station chief there [Larry Devlin], who ignored his orders and let it slide - - next Dulles contracted out to QJ/WIN [Mozes Maschkivitizan] who journeyed to the Congo, and met with Lumumba while he was either in jail or under detention by the UN forces, and persuaded Lumumba to escape . . . right into the bloody hands of Mobuto's men, who flew him to Katanga for torture and execution!
