Snow White, Rose Red In a tiny Welsh estate, a duke and duchess lived happily, lacking only a child -- or, more importantly, a son and heir to the estate. Childbirth ultimately proved fatal for the young duchess. After she died, the duke was dismayed to discover that he was not only a widower, but also father to a tiny baby girl. He vowed to begin afresh with a new wife, abandoning his daughter in search of elusive contentment.Independent -- virtually ignored -- and finding only little animals and a lonely servant boy as her companions, Jessica is pale, lonely and headstrong...and quick to learn that she has an enemy in her stepmother. "Snow," as she comes to be known, flees the estate to London and finds herself embraced by a band of urban outcasts. But her stepmother isn't finished with her, and if Jessica doesn't take control of her destiny, the wicked witch will certainly harness her youth -- and threaten her very life....

I have mixed feelings about the end of the book, but I like the liberties taken with some of the other known characters. A fun read.

Very good with a deep and intriguing plot. It was a big change from the Disney Snow white, going deeper into the story. The story has lots of twists that seem confusing at first, but will be revealed soon. I was a little surprised at first that Snow ended up with Raven, but I liked them together. Among the only downsides was the ending.

I particularly enjoyed how Snow didn't end up loving her best guy friend, but went for the slightly mysterious and appealing outcast. (I consider raven feathers a turn-on. Is that weird?)
The use of technology to explain magic was great, but I didn't think the dwarves were represented in this (although if it changed, our mysterious lover would be gone).
The ending was a bit abrupt. Perhaps the last chapter could've been longer and elaborated more on the future?

This was a fantastic book! I enjoyed every last bit of it. I was into it the whole way! Great story though the ending seemed to come to an abrupt halt. Wish the book kept going on.

Outstanding. Tracy has truly come up with an original and gripping story with all the allure of a fairy tale.
