This is the second book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed it almost as much as "Where the Heart Was".

This is an easy read-on-the-plane kind of story requiring very little from the reader. The premise: a veterinarian to the stars from Beverly Hills discovers he was adopted and sets out to meet his biological mother, an unwed teenager from a small town in Oklahoma. Turns out she was murdered shortly after he was born, and to add to that shock, he is also supposed to be dead. What follows is a bit of a detective story, a discovery of family story, an introduction to reality story, and an unbelievable love story. As you can tell I didn't really invest much in this book, but it would be a time passer for anyone with a couple of hours going unfilled.

I love great stories -- stories rich with character; touching; moving; inspiring. I just finished Shoot the Moon and it is a great story. I had difficulty putting it down, and I didn't want it to end. Enjoy! :)
