This book is as hard to follow as a pile of spaghetti. It is really two stories under one cover, in four different countries, and jumps around in time, 1998, 1942, 1965 etc. It is a crazy quilt of emotions, love, tragedy, torture, sex, politics, history, abandonment, and pain.
