The narrator has a very depressing yet sarcastic tone. If you like books that bring you into that mood, this one's for you. I myself am more about lighter chick lit, so this just wasn't my kind of novel. It is well written, however, and brings you into a narcissist's world that takes a change for the better in the end. I thought this was going to have bits of humor in it, but I have to say that I did not find any 'ha-ha' funny moments in the book- just lots of cynicism. I would not recommend unless you have your own misery that needs some literary company.

About a woman who is married and has a teenage son, whereby she meets up with her old high school flame and ends up having sex with him. Later, her husband takes her away to a weekend in Oregon to try re-connect with his wife. As a result, she ends up pregnant, but she does not know who the father is and what to do, plus she is 40 and feeling old. The writing is raw and emotional, but it is quick and easy read.

Very well written. Real and raw.
