perhaps living the most of one's reality versus chacing one's unknown/unresolved fantasies is the moral...

After a promising start, "The Good Night" gets weaker by the minute. Gary and Dora are introduced well, especially highlighting the cracks in their relationship. However, things get worse towards the middle, and in the end the plot does not make sense anymore. Gwyneth Paltrow does a great job in the film, and the scenes are composed well. I still managed to somewhat enjoy the film, but I am likely to forget about it very soon.

Watchable. So so romp via the dream within a dream concept. Danny DeVito shines in this picture and Paltrow plays the perfect fed up wife. But all in all, I just found that there were too many dream sequences and not enough "real" story. This is one of those pictures that require a further viewing.

Mel: Sometimes I wish that you could just hit the sack and never wake up. If your favorite song never ended, or your best book never closed, if the emotions mustered from these things would just go on and on, who wouldn't want to stay asleep? The guy who discovers that perpetual dream, he's my man.
