Aiken is one of the first (and best) of the Austen retellers and continuers, and I thoroughly enjoyed this expansion of "Mansfield Park," one of my favorites of Austen's novels! With Fanny and Edmund off the scene, we follow Susan Price as she settles into her role at Mansfield and navigates her own relationships with the Bertrams, Crawfords, and the larger world.
