Somewhere in the wilds of northwest Canada in the early 1800s, Logan and Victor, two half-brothers with special powers grow up amid violence. Eventually they will become the near-indestructible warriors known as Wolverine and Sabretooth. William Stryker is a sinister government operative whose Weapon X program experiments keep pulling Wolverine back in. Kayla Silverfox shares a peaceful Canadian co-existence with Wolverine as he tries to drop out of the program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new.

To me, this is by FAR the best of the X-Men series. I've seen all except for Apocalypse, and I love getting to know Wolverine's backstory.

While it's definitely disappointing, it's not quite as bad as its reputation suggests. The idea of giving the back story to the most popular X-Man is sound, but the execution is a little wobbly. It's a movie that tries to do too much and it's not very sure of how to do it. It leans heavily on CGI and there are some questionable casting choices, like Ryan Reynolds (the blandest actor working today) as Deadpool, Taylor Kitsch as Gambit, and Wil.I.Am. (it hurts me to type that) as somebody. The heart of the film is the relationship/rivalry between Wolverine and Sabretooth, played with gleeful venom by Liev Schreiber. There are plenty of oh I see now moments: That's how he got his claws! That's why he has no memory! That's why his sideburns are so long! There are some good fight scenes and, hey it's not as bad as "X-Men: The Last Stand." David Benioff, currently writer/producer on "Game of Thrones," worked on the screenplay and wanted to go darker, but these movies always have to be PG-13. "The Wolverine" was a far more successful Wolverine solo joint.

I’ve seen worse action films, and there are some ok moments but overall this is pretty lame. There are just far too many “yeah, but why…” moments–not to mention, how the hell did that dude fit those swords in his arms?

I thunk it was cool, but very dumb in the end, I still can't get over that wade Wilson turns into weapon 11 and in turn gets decapitated!!!!!!! All in all a good movie, by far the best so far

It had more potential than was carried out. The movies version of Wolverine is the only version of the character that I can tolerate, but this one, which messes with previous movie continuity and works around with some of the material from the Origins miniseries, comes up a bit short, particularly in the depiction of Deadpool.

This was much more interesting than I expected. I was not following all the x-men movies, but I could understand most of the original background. It made me feel like watching other x-men movies.

William Stryker: Mutants. I don't hate them, I just know what they can do. You don't realize this, but we are at war. I took an oath: Protect this country. My name is William Stryker, and I am not a monster. I am simply a patriot.

A look at Wolverine's early life, in particular his time with the government squad Weapon and the impact it will have on his later years.

From this movie, 3rd in the series of X-men movies, we finally understand who Wolverine is, where he came from, how he got there and how all the "others" come to be in the series of X-men.

Brilliant portrayal by Jackman who plays the brooding loner, haunted by who he is, tied to family (brother) and yet not quite free enough to be who he is.... a mutant.

Sub-plot there is a love story, family ties and a new beginning for all

Other: If you don't mind a bit of language and lot of slasher/cut-em-up violence, it is a very good Marvel Movie.
