The rules of South Carolina's Sweet Briar Ladies Society Sewing Circle are hard and fast, and the new Yankee librarian, Tori Sinclair, has a lot of catching up to do. She'll also need a Northern-to-Southern dictionary -- and a way to clear her name of murder! Ever since she moved to Sweet Briar, South Carolina, librarian Tori Sinclair has been the talk of the tiny town. But she's been so busy at work, winning over the sewing circle, and trying to forget her cheating ex that she hasn't even had time to baste together a pillow, let alone mind local gossip. Then she finds the hometown sweetheart dead at her back door . . . Everyone believes the police investigator, who's just fixin' to link Tori to the murder in a love triangle gone bad. To clear her name, Tori will have to rely on her new sewing sisters and stitch together the truth - or be darned.

I have just read the first in the 'sewing circle' series, and I am very eager to read more and get to know the girls from the circle. I very much enjoyed this book.Ms.Casey writes a good cozy mystery.

"Cozy Mysteries" is supposedly a genre of murder stories alarmingly shoehorned in to quaint settings. None has been more alarming than this story, set in a Southern town of what one can only fervently hope are very embellished archetypes. Trying to enjoy the quaintness of setting is not merely impossible but uncomfortable among a cast of bigoted, judgmental, accusacatory, small-minded and horrifying human beings. Why an MC from a real city wouldn't be on the phone to her lawyer the moment some demented hag stood up in a town meeting and directly accused her of murder is beyond any sane person's grasp.

Try to enjoy the setting, but good luck around the bitches that populate it.No one would elect to live in such circumstances.

Good addition to the craft/mystery genre.

She's a librarian in the south and I really wanted to like this book, but Tori is whiney and the community is way to judgmental. Even the romance seemed forced.
