Wow, I REALLY enjoyed this book! I love Hewitt's humor and the characters of Hardwick, both full of hope.Nice to know some people think outside the box.

"The Town That Food Saved" looks at how Hardwick, Vermont is transforming - or re-invigorating - its agricultural base through local food. But what does local food mean? Ben Hewitt knows that the fad phrase means different things to different people. He talks to a wide number of Hardwick residents trying to pin what exactly local food is reinvigorating in Hardwick. Several innovative ideas are explored. And, some hard hitting criticisms are high lighted. Good book on a hot topic.

Fabulous book crammed full of very important questions about how and if locally grown food can fix our broken agricultural system. As a young person with aspirations of making farming my career it was an enlightening and educational read. If you eat, I'd recommend this book.
