Georgie is known for two things: she’s a sharp shooter with a sharp tongue. She is also intelligent, brave, caring, and passionate about her family and the store they run. When her sister, Agatha, runs away and a mutilated body wearing Agatha’s dress is brought home a few weeks later by the town sheriff, the rest of her small family mourns and buries the body. Only Georgie refuses to accept the worst. She schemes and bribes to get a horse (she ends up with a stubborn mule) and sets off to find her sister, or failing that, find out what happened to her. This is a funny, poignant and terrific adventure story – believable, engaging, and a great read.
