Mr. Koontz is once again the master of human depravity amidst supernatural situations. Whether the one draws the other or vice versa isn’t a question easily answered and the novel doesn’t provide the reader with any real conclusions. What do come through are the trials of a mere human struggling with a superhuman power and the obstacles thrown in his way by the mortal and immortal world alike. Odd Thomas is an incredible creation, both queer and ordinary, desperately determined to grip his sanity and mildly fearful that he really is nuts. This is a book of genuine creepiness and terror and not to be missed by true horror fans.
