A good idea in theory, but in execution leaves something to be desired. This is a case where it might work better reading the book, rather than listening to someone reading it to you. Part of the problem for this audio-CD version is the audio reader isn't particularly skilled at the various pauses, stammering, vocal inflections, etc. needed for properly telling jokes. And with the lack of an audience response, the jokes come off stale. It would have been better to edit-in actual comedy-club comedians telling the jokes. On the plus side, the philosophy-themed prose is well done and interesting, and gives the listener a good, albeit brief, survey of the highlights of Western philosophy. Modestly recommended.
