This is the one that started it all in the land of "True Blood", that summer tv show that is quite delicious. "Dead Until Dark" is Book 1 of the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, and it has such bite. Charlaine Harris did an amazing job with setting the groundwork for her most popular project to date. The story introduces us to Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress, who falls for Bill Compton, a come out of the coffin vampire who's looking to mainstream in the town of Bon Temps, a town he called home over a century ago. Not only does Sookie fall for him, she falls into the tangled and bloody world of the supernatural, that tends to bring the demons out of people she thought she knew. When women closest to Sookie start being murdered, Sookie finds her inner heroine in having to solve the mystery, and saving herself.
